Well, 7/11 may have come and gone but that doesn’t mean 7-Eleven is stopping the promotions quite just yet.
On November 7th (11/7 for the dim-witted), the convenience store is having a Name Your Own Price Day and it’s exactly what you think it is.
Their Facebook event says that you can get any size Slurpee for whatever you want to pay. If you want to pay $1, go ahead. If you want to pay $100, you can also do that! Why would you want to pay $100 for a Slurpee? 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Feeding America. Not a portion, not half, 100% and that is something to get excited about, because it can really make a change.
This time of year is also an especially important time to think about feeding those in need because of the holidays. While you and I may be able to head home and eat our body weight in gravy and stuffing (see here) many are lucky to get anything at all.
While I am not personally a huge Slurpee fan (*gasp*, I know) this is certainly a great time to give back. If you’re not already participating in a food drive, you can donate a few bucks for a great cause.
So, join the Facebook event, mark your calendars and donate to your heart’s desire. It doesn’t hurt that you get a sweet treat in the end, too!
