I wish everyone would just read our little guide on how to not be the most annoying customer at a restaurant, but alas… You know what I always say? You can’t help those who can’t help themselves or at least those who were raised by hyenas.

A D’Jais Bar & Grill waitress in Belmar, New Jersey was snubbed by a group of 8 who visited the establishment for dinner. While the customers rung up a $112.03 bill, they left the restaurant without compensating the waitress at all.

That’s right. NO TIP, jut a measly “LOL” left on the dotted line along with the message “1 hour wait for food”. Take a look below.

While apparently they really did have to wait an hour for their food, the waitress was sure to convey the longer-than-normal wait time to the customers and filled them up with booze instead, saying:

“Last night, I was stunned by this receipt that was left for me by a party of eight people,” Jones wrote on her Facebook page. “I would have preferred a ‘$0′ tip than a ‘LOL’ tip, but as a waitress, bad tips and harsh notes are all part of the job. Even though they did wait an hour to eat, they remained satisfied with filled drinks and proper notice that the kitchen was a bit busier than normal. I’ve worked in the service industry for five years and I take pride in providing great service to my customers.”

Well, it looks like this young lady certainly did take the high road, despite the fact that she only gets paid $2.50/hour and when she isn’t tipped, the maximum amount she can get is $8.38/hour. Take into account that she has to pay taxes, students loans, etc… you get the picture.

While LOL may almost be harsher than no tip at all, there is a valuable lesson to be learned here: just be nice to your servers. Oftentimes, this is the money they make to subsist on and unless they are really nasty or rude to you, there’s no reason why you should snub them. It’s bad karma, after all.
