If there is one thing that Americans love, it’s drinking holidays (well, apart from eating holidays). The most recent drinking holiday to take place was St. Patrick’s Day and let’s just say it was a heck of a lot of fun.

Whether or not St. Patty’s is celebrated by the Irish  is something we’re a little iffy on, but our next holiday, Cinco de Mayo, is one that Mexicans just have to scratch their heads at. The origins of Cinco de Mayo are a little murky to me, but apparently it commemorates a specific battle that occurred in Puebla, Mexico where the Mexican army won over the French. Why this is significant is beyond me, but I will be damned if I don’t take absolutely any excuse to indulge in a margarita.

Cinco de Mayo is great for so many reasons: the drinks, the food, the friends, the fun. Plus, it’s all themed which always make party throwing a blast!

Take a look at all the recipes (from sweet to savory to alcoholic) we’re drooling over.

Is it time to drink yet?

A Cinco De Mayo feast without guac is basically heresy.
