tender app

I don’t know about you but I am pretty much over online dating apps. They’re riddled with let-downs and disappointments – the men, the dates, the drab conversation… It all just seems like so much more effort than it’s worth.

That being said, there seems to be one app that has caught our attention (at least for now), and that would be “Tender” – the app that will (potentially) match you with the recipes of your dreams.

Tender being a wordplay on “Tinder”, users are basically prompted to swept left (for recipes they don’t like) and right (for recipes they do). If a user swipes right on a food picture, the recipe will be saved to their “cookbook”.

And don’t worry, if you’re vegetarian you won’t have to spend hours swiping left on steak dinners. Just like you can filter your Tinder prospects down to a certain age and location (I’m sorry, I can’t date anyone who lives more than 5 miles away from me – because: lazy), Tender lets you filter for drinks, desserts, vegan, vegetarian, pork, beef and seafood options.

Look, I don’t need an app to tell me that my most perfect and likely match is most likely with food, but it’s nice to have an easy, concise way and place to view or store recipes. While cookbooks are “cute” to buy for a kitchen, sometimes they are filled with equally as many recipes that you don’t care to try as much as recipes that you can’t wait to try. It’s a new age of cooking in the kitchen – and this is all thanks to tech .

Who came up with this genius? Just three friends from Boston – Jordan Homan, Necco Ceresani and David Blumenfield – who met at the College of Charleston in South Carolina. Naturally, their overlapping interest was in food. Ah, what a beautiful story of how food can bring people together, don’t you think?

So far, the app is doing alright having added more than 200 accounts in the last week, but it’s going to need more than just that to become a real fixture in the food porn scene. We doubt it will have trouble doing so however, because well… If there is one thing I have learned it’s that people cannot resist scrolling through an infinite amount of food pictures. Yum!
